Research interests
I am interested in social aspects of face perception, including eye gaze perception, emotional expression, trustworthiness, and their biological underpinnings. Understanding the cognitive processes involved in social perception has implications for clinical psychology and psychiatry, since for example dysfunction of eye gaze processing is a core symptom of autism and schizophrenia. I use psychophysics and brain imaging techniques (fMRI) to investigate featural and configural facial cues, attention following, and infant cutenes.
